What we collect
- Forms. When you claim a listing, report a problem or add a business, we store what you enter (such as name, email, phone and message) to process the request.
- Abuse prevention. We store a one-way hash of your IP address with form submissions and for rate limiting. We do not store the IP address itself.
- Searches. We count searches per day by their normalised wording and whether they found results, to improve coverage. No IP address or identifier is stored with them.
- Advertising requests. The “Request Advertising Information” form is forwarded securely to our directory management system (DirMonitor), which stores it so we can reply.
- Usage counts. We count page views per page per day and clicks on listing phone, website and directions links. These counts contain no cookies, identifiers or IP addresses.
The public site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The administrator area uses sign-in cookies for staff only.
How we use it
Only to run the directory: verifying claims, correcting listings, adding businesses and understanding which listings people use. We do not sell personal information.
Business listings and public contact data
Listings show business contact details exactly as a business publishes them on its own website. We do not publish home addresses or personal phone numbers, even when they appear in a public record; licence records are used only to confirm a licence's type and status. A street address appears only when a business presents it as its business location. Business owners can request corrections, suppression or removal using the forms on each profile.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Vercel and data is stored with Supabase in the United States.
